West Point Lantern Parade

This event is my love letter to the neighbourhood where I have raised my kids and to the community that makes us feel at home here. For the past 10 years with the support of the West Point Residents Association and Manchester City Council local residents
+ artists have come together to celebrate creativity and community in Levenshulme’s West Point Gardens.
The evening includes illuminated sculptures, live music, theatrical lighting, a candy swap, warm drinks and costumed LED jugglers and large scale puppets. Talented performers who have been featured at our event include Circus House, Batala Manchester, Levenshulme Choir, comedian/storyteller Jonathan Mayor + the Awesome News Crew and a dozen or so LED performers who are known to Mcr.
We’re proud to say we always consider the impact our event and the art we create has on the environment and we love that everyone involved feels the same. For instance Leeway Productions lighting is powered by LeEcoGen Lithium Ion based battery powered delivery system that brings green energy to the event. This means their generators are not only silent but do not release any harmful fumes.
We thank the West Point Residents Association, our local councillors + Manchester City Council for their continued support by awarding us a Neighbourhood Investment Fund Grant to make this event possible since 2016.
