The West Point Lantern Parade is held every year in West Point Gardens on the 31st of October from 6-8pm. The event is planned and created by creative residents of West Point whose aim is to offer events in West Point Gardens that bring together our diverse friendly residents and welcome all who visit our neighbourhood. The night includes illuminated sculptures made by local residents, a candy swap, warm drinks, live music and costumed revelers from all over Levenshulme and beyond. Talented performers who have been featured at our event include Circus House, Batala Manchester, Levenshulme Choir, comedian/storyteller Jonathan Mayor + the Awesome News Crew. In recent years we have had Matt Leeway and crew bring their dramatic lighting to illuminate the trees with their LeEcoGen Lithium Ion based battery powered delivery system that brings green energy to the event. We thank the West Point Residents Association, our local councillors + Manchester City Council for their continued support by awarding us a Neighbourhood Investment Fund Grant to make this event possible since 2016.
